About us
One of us comes from engineering. The other, from finance. What brings us together is a problem we see every day in Madrid.
We met at IE, in Madrid. One is Spanish and studied computer engineering. The other is Lebanese, also grew up in Canada, and comes from the world of finance. Two very different ways of looking at things, and one shared question: why is it still so hard to find someone you can trust to fix something at home?
The problem, from both sides
If you need a plumber, an electrician or a handyman, you start asking people you know, searching on Google and calling numbers you've never heard of. You don't know what it should cost, it's hard to explain what's wrong, and comparing quotes is almost impossible.
On the other side are the professionals. We went to talk to them in person, and they all told us the same thing: they're good at what they do, but they live on word of mouth. After a full day's work, they have no energy left to advertise. And the platforms that could help them take a percentage of every job, or pay them little for each visit.
Some can't find someone to call. Others can't find the people who need them.
What we want to do
WHIZ is where they meet. You tell us what you need, get quotes from independent professionals, and choose. They set their own price, choose their jobs and get paid directly when the job is done. We charge a small fixed fee, never a percentage. We work with independent professionals in Madrid. Each one sets their price and is responsible for their work.
This is just the beginning
We're starting with small home repairs in Madrid. There's a lot left to build, and we'll build it by listening to the people who use it. Our goal is to create the best service marketplace in Europe, and to do it right.
Send photos on WhatsApp and we send you the pro's price before anyone comes.
WHIZ connects you with independent professionals. They set the price and do the work.
Before working with a professional, we meet them in person. Each professional is independent, sets their price and is responsible for their work.
Are you a handyman in Madrid?
We send you jobs with photos and area. You set the price and choose which ones you take.
